They show where to solder.
90% of non functioning lamps is like you say down to the rivet joints or corroded PCB tracks which just need bridging with thin wire.
Better still run wires the whole length of tracks for good measure.

Incorporated into the How To Thank you

Default FlexitStrip

Hi T Cut

How easy is it to remove the flexi-strip if the pcb needs more repairs?

Damn Photobucket, may they rot in hell. I need these pics to see how to reassemble the boot trim and number plate lights unit. (once I've found a replacement for my broken one that came off in my hand today)

Frnurple !!, I have a couple of facelift boot plinth in the back garden, or a PPD Mk1 version for super stealthy look

The quality of the trim on these cars leaves a lot to be desired in places.

Typically I was in Carlisle on Wednesday and could have turned off at Greenhead and tested out the ZT's handling over the dips and crests of the military road.

Anyhoo if you need a hand give me a shout

I'll try to recover it all. I've managed to fix my header tanks and pressure caps thesis and will slowly fix the rest. But can't promise it'll be quick. I'll take a look tomorrow.

The old HowTo (see post 4) has now been recovered from Photobucket's ransom.

Thanks for recovering the photos TC. Excellent guide to taking apart and reassembly, will make my job much easier. Also I didn't understand what the outer nuts / bolts were or how they fixed. Now I know, plastic dowels and silly self tapping nuts. Awful design, it's no wonder mine were broken when I bought the car and continued stress on just the middle two nuts and bolts caused the plastic outer chromed trim to break where the bolts fix onto it.

Thankfully the silly self threading flange nuts are still available from Rimmers. I wonder if we can DIY a better fixing mechanism?

Ali.

Dunno, I haven't had reason to try, but it can't be worse than the foam tape. Anything that's designed to stick and seal well will be less than a doddle to remove. It'll certainly soften using a hair drier, providing the weather's not too cold.

Many thanks for the "how to". Just replaced my pcb and re-assembled - what a carry on it turned out to be for what should have been a simple job.
