As for the thread topic, I've always used Adblock without issue, but in the last few weeks, Youtube seems to have got wise to it, and now refuses to play any videos unless I "whitelist" their site.

Had the same issue Cliff and changed to uBlock Origin and never looked back.

In the settings you can purge the cashes and update it manually.
