![]() Today got it through its MOT Hurahhhh! Re-test as 1st time around it failed due to BOTh back springs broken (in 2 places) and the air bag light on. It was the passenger side that was the prob and when I had removed 3 bottles of soft drinks, a box of tissues and part of a road atlas the light went out! Suppose the debris was putting a strain on the wires under the seat. Thanks to DMGR for rapid dispatch of parts and this site for inside/experienced knowledge and tips for removing/re-fitting springs without spring compressors etc. I just hope I have done up all the nuts and bolts I removed. The garage stinks of WD40, underseal, waxoyl and grease!

![]() Took the pooch out to the dog park for a run today, only to find that with the cold weather the tailgate lift cylinders have lost their stay-uppedness.
This is particularly irritating as he has decided he no longer likes to ride in the back and I have to lift him in. Another small job to add to the winter list. ![]()

![]() Decided to put a gallon of petrol in the 2.5 this morning, and start it up. Just above a quarter full tank now. Started straight away after a month standing still. Put the air con on to clear any damp out, but air con not working. Will have to investigate that.

![]() Took the 75 in for a three-axis, four-wheel alignment, following a badly degraded* front offside tyre. I don't recall it being realigned during my twenty years of ownership.
Ellis Motors, Burgess Hill, found that none of the wheels were within tolerance on any axis. Their technician had a serious job releasing the rear adjusters without damaging anything. Fortunately he persevered and now the car is transformed. Time for new tyres all round. Derek. * Inside shoulder down to the fabric over a width of about 20mm! Road legal over most of the remainder, which is why it wasn't noticed sooner. ![]() |
