Default Other little gem saved. :)

Hiya all Bought this iconic 90's ford this summer always liked the Mk6 Ford Escort.

Paid £500 pounds for her and she needed some attention, well proud too say she's back on the road once again

So chuffed that it drives so well, I've been a bit slow with it but glad I took the extra time to do things and it really shows in the drive.
I can see why these were so popular back in the 90's brings back lots of memories of being in the car with my parents and seeing these Escorts on roads doing the school run or commuting too work.
...
Those days are gone but I like too think that this escort and many others out there still live on and still putting a big grin on your faces when you jump in and turn that key and listen too a perfect sound of a Ford Zetec engine.

I used to have a Mk6 Escort. Bought it new and had it till it got written off
It was a great family car at the time. As I say it got written off, bought a Rover 400 and the rest as they say is history

Never really liked escorts that came after the mighty mk1 and mk2s. XR3i, RS turbo and Cosworth nice enough because of their style and performance but the common ordinary models, no thanks.

Nice one and from new as well, when they came out they were pretty pricey I think.

I have too say I like it, its cheap too run and goes well, very light weight.

Rover 400 again there gem my dad had two of them in 1996 and again in 1997.

I'm big fan of the mk1 and mk2's the history they had and the styling is just something too admire.

I didn't think I'd like the Mk6, I bought mainly for me and my girlfriend well ex now, she was going for her driving lessons and if she had passed I would have put her on insurance with a 1600 engine its was going too be pretty cheap.

I very nearly sold it last week, after selling my astra van and needed a car too get me about, transferred everything too the escort and driving it for a few hours.

I quickly changed my mind.

I can appreciate this Mk6 it may have been common front wheel drive model but it kept us going.

Thank you very much and your bang on right as well

Took detour on the back roads of Dinas Dinlle beach.

Great way too test the handling and give it a bit more grunt then normal.
