Default Rover 75 production dates and figures

I am sure there are lots of people out there who know the answer to this question, but it has been bugging me -
When did 75 production START at Longbridge?
How do we tell the difference between a Cowley car and a Longbridge car (other than build date)?
Also, does anyone know the actual total production figures for the 75 and ZT?
Sorry to be such an anorak, but like I said it is really bugging me!!
Someone told me you can tell the difference between Longbridge and Cowley cars by the colour of the sills - anyone know?

Production at Longbridge began in October 2000.

In general Cowley cars are distinguishable from Longbridge ones because they have black painted sills, though this isn't an abosolute indicator as some Cowley cars were supplied from the factory with painted sills, and others like Alex's on here, have painted them since.

From www.austin-rover.co.uk, the stated Rover 75 production figures were as follows:

1999 53581 Cowley
2000 28388 Cowley + 3156 Longbridge
2001 33883 + 3510 MGZT Longbridge
2002 32123 + 6914 MGZT Longbridge
2003 30449 + 8011 MGZT Longbridge
2004 24156 + 6844 MGZT Longbridge
2005 5439 + 1870 MGZT Longbridge

The VIN of the 1st and last are as follows (taken from the cars at Gaydon in January)

1st: SARRJZLLMXM100001
Last: SARRJZLHC5D355194

Hi Colin, no it wasn't sequential. The numbering changed for Longbridge production start.

Default How many Connoisseur SE's followed mine?

I have just bought a 75 Connoisseur SE V6 2.5 and joined the forum. My car is VIN 285605 and was built in March 2003. I know the car is 2,460 of 3,671 Conn SE V6 2.5 built but wondered how many more of this model were built pre-facelift. Does the data allow me to work this out please? Keith

Welcome

My 2.5 V6 Conny SE was also March 03 - probably the same day as yours as the VIN is not far off mine (2,457th so 3 away from yours)

Default Facelift vs MK1 production & export figures

Firstly I'd like to know the number of 75 MKII's produced in total? What is the breakdown in production figures between MK 1 & 2's.

Secondly why are their two overall 75 production figures for the 75;

112,381 or 211,175. Does this second figure include the export models.

Thirdly how many are left in 2019? I found a figures of 37,000 registered examples in the United Kingdom for December 2017.

Finally, my new 75 is a 2.5ltr Connoisseur SE 1,241st of 3,671 built! Rescued from a field in rural Buckinghamshire last week she cleaned up nicely with some minor trim restoration & a very thorough valet. Deep Sea Green personal line interior, see my brief YouTube video below;
