Default How many folk are working in this lockdown

Just wondered what members experiences are during this lockdown, particularly those who usually go to work. Many laid off? Still travelling to work

I am as I am in food packaging, Mrs nickgreg is too in distribution (although that is getting quiet so she could be laid off). The only benefit for me is that my journey time to and from work has been cut in half. The traffic is surreal on the way home.

Thank you. I'm retired now and can't volunteer due to chronic asthma. Keeping busy doing all those things now I have got a round tuit. On my (one) walk this morning, I thanked (from a safe distance) the postie, the dustmen (refuse operatives) and a bus driver. It seems to me that we should say thank you much more when all this is over (and during of course). Keep up the good work and paying your taxes as this keeps me in the life that I have become acustomed to! Take care and stay safe.

My wife and I are/were part time and have decided not to work.
Here work has since closed its doors, no idea about mine.
We are not going out but spending time doing gardening, diy on my car and the house.

Disappointed not to be working but that's as bad as it gets.
For those that will be in financial difficulties I do have sympathy for if they have not been squandering their money

Default Still Working

Unfortunately I am still working. As a Prison Officer we need to, to ensure that the little darlings (or residents as they are now called!) are well looked after.
They are in Lockdown now, which means they are, more or less, banged up 24/7. The decent ones actually say thankyou and appreciate that this is hard work for us, the scumbags just get more needy and more of a pain in the NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-!

The missus is laid off on the old 80% pay rate, but enjoying this good weather!

Wherever you are, stay safe and take care of each other and your loved ones.

I'm at home as I took the chance to retire early after Carillion collapsed 2yr ago, wife is a wee bit younger than me and is an RGN.
She is the Unit Manager of a nursing home and already working longer hours due to staff self isolation.

Hats off to you for keeping the darlings out of harms way! No offence but hope I never meet you on the job. I'll be on my best behaviour from now on.

Not working as such but just helping out where people need help just been to the supermarket for a lady with health issues and her 3 dependent kids who also have medical needs.

Heartening to see plenty of volunteers from all walks of life stepping forward as we knew the Brits would.

Bit of a sour note those incompetent fools at the Welsh assembly / government haven't even managed to ensure that our doctors surgeries or all medical staff have protective equipment and just went on the NHS website to register for the volunteer help register only to find that Wales isn't on it just England.

An obvious reason as to why the NHS has to be national and not devolved to the incompetent fools around the country trying to point score by being 'different'

Lucky enough to be able to work via the web. The job is indirectly related to air safety so it will carry on but one never knows about headcount reduction.

How they manage to keep 2 metres apart when there are 3 crew members in a cab with two of the seats side by side is beyond me. We shall all need a lot of patience and understanding over the next period.
