Cyprus to welcome vaccinated U.K. tourists from May
However UK travel restrictions may still be in force. Cyprus is saying 1st May but current U.K. restrictions say that the earliest Britons could go away is the 17th May.
You need to have had both jabs (second one at least seven days before travel) and have a certificate to prove it. That’s fine by me as my second dose is booked for May 5th and SWMBO’s 14th May. So - end of May/early June - grab both of our U.K. passports and our Vaccine Passports/certificates and we're off!! |

Won't be going there then!
I do hope you both enjoy your holiday there though, well overdue I would imagine. |

Same here, I won’t go anywhere that insists on a vaccine passport. It’s going to be like North Korea here soon.

I get the vaccination thing for yellow fever, typhoid etc but the whole world has been brought to a standstill for a virus that has a 98% survival rate.

I’ve already had 2 pre-booked flights for trips to Cyprus cancelled, and am not likely to get both jabs until July or Aug, so the new rules make little difference to me until Autumn. Enjoy if you do get out there.

As someone who worked in the holiday industry for over 20 years I would like to say..
Vaccine Passports/certificates The best shot in the arm for the UK holiday business ever, long may they reign (Pun intended) Last edited by Ian G; 5th March 2021 at 20:47.. |

We have had it here for years with the Yellow Fever vaccination being an entry requirement which carries a certificate. I am used to a vaccination certificate and don’t worry about it, but each to their own.

I admit to being more than a bit surprised that there are apparently some 20,000 (at the last count - a week ago anyway) people in the NHS who have declined the offer of precedence. Even some in the elevated position of surgeon, amongst other senior personnel.
On the other hand, also surprised, at the lack of condemnation or even being subjected to the mocking directed at similar minded people. We have now had four telephone calls, from more than one source, with one declining to say what department/office they were calling from. One of them just put the phone down without the customary polite 'Goodbye'. All were concerning the opportunity for vaccination. We can easily maintain dignity and resolve without any worries but I am not too sure about elderly people or those others who might be frail and timid. Getting a bit too close to intimidation. With the advent of passports/certificates I agree that it will be welcomed by the 'industry'. They would, wouldn't they. It's business after all. Cart before the horse once again? Should have been done 18 months ago. Nobody in, nobody out without permission.
