The DMFs on 75s and ZTs are very rarely a problem. Many members tow caravans, I did for a long while with my 75, never a problem.
I would stick with the original parts as there is very little info on the solid one. Also the only post I remember had the solid ones more expensive? Dave

i drove a a4 1.9 130 that i remapped that had a solid conversion done and couldn't tell the difference was nice and smooth and very quick after the remap. are 75/zt have a weaker crank than the bmw and can snap but it still takes some doing, like full revs drop clutch action at the traffic light gp's i was going to go solid when i change my clutch tomorrow but going to see if i can get away without changing the flywheel

Gone down the solid route with an LDV minibus and a TDCi Mondeo, Can't tell the difference, Certainly no vibration and the clutch feels just the same.

v6 is a completely different engine and has NO relevance to this thread, v6 are designed to use a solid flywheel and the diesel is designed to use a dual mass flywheel.

Right guys...
After loads of advice one way and the other I've decided to be brave/stupid and go for the solid flywheel. So stand by for a decent verdict on vibration, etc! And hopefully not of crank snapping!! :-/ It's in the post at the moment so hopefully I'll get it by the weekend and fit it on Saturday. |

Ok... not the best start!
My Borg and Beck flywheel kit came today... it's in a Borg and Beck box but it's all marked up Valeo! Are Valeo at all affiliated with B and B? Or have I been ripped off? |

Valeo are French and Borg and Beck are owned by AP, which I think is Japanese
