"I just handed over the Keys to a 2.0l Injection Cavalier down to a Basic Clubman"...........
Yeah well, he should be Grateful dierdre didn't ask for her Glasses back too, then he would have been upset.......... Seriously though, the Guy is a complete pratt and the fact HGV's are passing him is because clearly he isn't trying. I drove a Diesel Maestro for quite some time at Work and it was a good and reliable little motor and was quite effective enough to keep up with Motorway traffic.

I was given one of these by my brother in-law about 10 years ago, he was in the trade and could'nt sell the car, he had taken it in part exchange. I had an old sierra that I was running around in, it was on its last legs so as a work horse I thought it would be ok. Any way he dropped it off when I was out,he phoned me later and asked what I thought to it. Well it wasnt going to win any traffic light drag races, I found it to be quite a good little car, it was really economical and reasonably spacious even with a load of tools in it and it would carry 3 of us to jobs all over the place (we had to leave plenty of time for travelling) All in all it was a good economical car that never let me down, eventually after several months I sold it the bloke who bought it wanted the engine for a narrow boat. Wish I still had it now with the price of fuel I seem to remember getting around 60-70 mpg .

I hate to admit this , but I had one of these. I was made redundant (for the 1st time), had no money and a mate in the car trade got me one for £250. It was functional, that's the best you could say about it. NO wait actually, it was huge inside. Some 16yr old and his girlfriend knicked it and the cops stopped them at the end of the street (muppets), at 3.00am. I also got stopped by the cops and breathalized in it, how embarassing is that. I mean, what did the cops think stopping a Maestro for being 2miles over the limit. Anyway, it was rubbish, but went where I wanted it to go and served the purpose at the time.

It may be a comedy to us, but it was actually a documentary, I remember it well

My grandad had one of these. It was an ex fire brigade car with steel plating around the locks. The turbo had been played with too so it was quick. The boot sounded like a rain stick when you opened it with all the loose rust falling down! Happy memories.
