You can actually chrome plate plastic, but these are steel

I would try some cheap ebay chrome vinyl first see how it looks.

a few of the custom bike magazines advertise chrome plating services some do plastic, check out 100% BIKER or STREETFIGHTER and the likes, or you can buy kits to do it yourself on a small scale,

Can you not paint plastics with polycarbonate paint from a craft and model shop?
I painted my scuttle clips in that easikote craft paint to see how it fares in the weather. If it goes ok I might do the whole panel. |
