Default Help Needed!! White Smoke and Weird Noise

Hi All,

I have recently got my car back on the road and have started to enjoy the pleasures of my ZT. Today though I noticed that when I pulled away that there was white smoke! This slowly disappeared after about 10/15 mins, but would appear now and then. When I got back home I looked under the bonnet, checked the oil and coolant...all ok. I turned car over and suddenly this noise abit like a humming/minute scretching noise could be heard. The car itself has been off the road for over a year and had suffered hgf on inspection, all which has been put right. I'm at a loss to what it could be, please can I get your advice! Thank you
Forgot to say its a 1.8T ZT+ 03 platw

You need to give an idea of what motor you have. Put it on your profile as well, it will make it a lot easier for the correct diagnosis.

Cheers Ian, do you know if it's still ok to drive it, as I'm not sure if it will cause any further damage?

Hi
I certainly would'nt drive it until it has been checked over by someone who knows their way around these engines(try MJS Auto and Marine they are in your area) because you can bet that most garages will say it's head gasket failure..
Cheers Ian

sounds like the turbo dont use it until you check it out the screeching could be the turbo vanes catching the housing if so they coud end up in the engine , take the inlet pipe of the turbo and push and pull the turbo shaft any movement in the horizontal pane is not good , MAKE SURE THE ENGINE IS OFF or you will loose your fingers
