Low miles probably not helped.

I've changed them on both zts as well as rear subframe in the past year.

Both rear ends have been pretty much all renewed and treated prior to and after fitting.

I'm wanting to completely refurbish the rear suspension of my 75 this year, but the P6 takes priority.
I've been using POR15 on the P6 underside, for the last week or so, and although near-impossible to get off your skin, it leaves an absolutely superb finish, infinitely better, and, to my mind, having attacked a section on a sample piece of metal, a lot tougher.
I'll be painting everything in it, prior to waxoyling.

It's the remains of the rear upper suspension arms.If anyone is interested I have a pair of professionally refurbished arms plus two new bushes , drop me a PM if you need a set.Hope this assists.

Not being mechanically minded where are these located and are they easy to remove and fit?

This is one of the rear arms that the spring sits in, not to bad to remove but depending on you skill level. There is a small hole on the sub frame that I sprayed lots of penetrating fluid on to the end of the bolt/captured nut

the powder costing on this type of non galvanised steel is not quite pointless but getting there. A paint system with a good quality primer is far better. Weirdly for me the earlier ones seem to be slightly better which is possibly down to the passivation used in the assembly prior to coating. A good hexavalent chromium passivation stops rust dead; sadly it kills people too (just watch Erin Brockovich the only film in history to combine Julia Roberts and Corrosion Inhibition; brave and it worked probably as it was a true story!)

It's a question I was wondering too because looking at the state of the ones pictured, you'd think they would have been picked up on a couple of MOT's ago.

Yes, just poke your nose under the rear end and look at the suspension system. You might have to jack the wheels up first, find a high kerb or drive the car onto a couple bricks/blocks of wood.
