For a ZT....mark 1 every time, the 75, well as the only car I've ever bought because it was what I wanted was a Mk1 Tourer, you'd think it would be Mk1, but no I like the Mk2 just as well

I have three R40, all of them Mk2, and I personally think the look of the Mk2 ZT is pants

It's easy to see where the styling cues for the Mk2 ZT came from

Default Mk1 vs Mk2 better looking?

For me? Mk1 ZT (ZT190 in Anthracite)

What do i have now? Mk2 ZT (135CDTi in X-Power Grey)

The Mk1 ZT front end just has more presence on the road, the boomerang spoiler may look boy racer'ish, but my old Mk1 ZT190 in Anthracite always looked like it was doing 100mph even when stood still.

Can't really comment on the 75, both look good to me.

The front bumper on my Mk1 75 has a bit of a crack and to be honest I'm going to replace it with a Mk2 one. I have umm'd and arrr'd about it a fair bit but what finally swung it for me was the facelift 45 I just bought from mss, the pre facelift 45's look 'old' (which is fine if that's what you want) but the facelift cars look more like a car you might choose to own

I don't actually have a problem with the twin headlights on the Mk1 75 bumper, in fact I actually quite like them but I'm really not fond of the bottom half of the bumper and the way the lower edge rises towards the front rather than looking flat.

I am however much less fond of the rear bumper on facelift tourers........

Definitely mk1 zt front end with xenon. Not a fan of the mk2 even though I have just bought one. 🤐

Thats before you get into Premium bumper, Roewe / mg 7 bumpers and so on.

IMO mk2 75 tourers unquestionably look better than a mk1 tourer in dark colours, but in light colours the mk1 tourers look best.

Example is my own mk1 into mk2 tourer. I always said I wouldnt buy a mk2 tourer but would convert one, and it happened I got a mk2 in same colour, so stripped it and went from mk1 to mk2.

(Which I had cowley'd as you can see by the sills due to damage)

IMO the mk2 tourer rear end looks the best from the entire range, with the "ROVER" lettering displayed proudly on the boot, my led number plate lights them up nicely.

However ive the interior now a full mix of 75 and zt, so for me shes my ultimate hybrid of how the cars should look. Well until my roewe bumper gets painted.

HOWEVER, im a big believer that mk1 saloons generally are nicer looking than mk2s as standard. HOWEVER, thats with cars with xenon / projector lights. IMO the standard clear halogen lights do the car no favours at all and age the car far more than the retro styling ever will.

Ive been lucky to own dozens of 75 and zts now some ive kept, most ive sold for a quick profit and maybe 1/3 ive broken, of various colours and specs and these are some of my favorites that I no longer own. And nearly every one of them is a mk1.

Copperleaf mk1 75

Anthcrite mk1 zt

Starlight Silver mk1 75

Moonstone Green mk1 75

And with 2 white gold tourers in my back garden and the mk1 ztt also, I think you could say thats my preference. BUT only just. Ive always said if I have a monogram it will be a mk2!
I think the MG looks so much more aggresive in mk1 rather than mk2 it has a more 'move over face'

But the Roveer looks much smarter in the mk2

The dark blue is a prime example and the black MG just says 'shift your 320 ar$e out of my way'

That black MG in my opinion is amazing.
