Also the left hand side sender unit is different, along with the cross tank pipework.

The underfloor pipework is completely different of course, and the pressure regulator on the high pressure fuel pump is different.

Does that clarify things slightly more?

Thanks Brian but this is the question that,s not been answered.

my observations from looking at the top is the early one has a spout that’s straight and the later one has the same spout, but at an angle.

Is there a good diagram of the Mk1 Filter, Pump and tank system, with brief explanation? Is there a simple conversion from 2 pump to one pump system on a Mk1? Does the UBP die quickly if it sucks air?

Both the low pressure fuel pumps use the fuel for cooling and lubrication, and will be damaged by overheating if they run dry for long enough.

This can happen if the car is left to idle unattended and runs out of fuel for instance.

If you run one dry on the bench it will get very hot after a few minutes.

Brian has converted a Mk I to a Mk II single pump system, so he can tell you how simple it was to do.

As far as I know there isn't a good definitive diagram of the in tank pipework - Rover themselves have put out different configurations in their technical publications.

Bit of info here on the pipework to and from the tank for the Mk I: https://the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/s...d.php?t=271389

Absolutely not Thomas, they are completely different, and why do you want to do that, I've yet to see a failed single pump system pump?

Because one of the pipe on the top of mine had snapped off. And I have a mk1 breaking. The one in my car that’s broke come out at an angle I think it the return pipe.
