Removing the carpets will take you a full day if you are new to this!
All seats out, centre console out, seat belt mounts undone at the bottom nut, plastic trims removed from the A and B pillars, plastic sill trims off, door seals removed there is a plastic grommet type thing beneath the pedals that catches most people out, also remove the plastic fixings in the passenger footwell that hold the fusebox flap on, you will need to disconnect the battery before removing the earth connector on the airbag ecu! Once you have done that, pull the carpet out from behind the heater box first, then gently start to remove it backwards, once it moves about 6" rearwards, you will have to lift it over the gear lever and handbrake to remove it fully Simples

As for any other leaks, I doubt it has been left out in the rain, so keep an eye on all the usual places. Quote:
All dry in the plenum chamber, but there were a few leaves down there that want removing although I did lift a few - it's been a natural reflex reaction for years |

I don't really want to take out all the carpets to dry in the middle on winter, if the smell doesn't go in a couple of months I guess I will have to though. Im really hoping that the smell will go without force but I won't ignore the problem if it doesn't go naturally. I am keeping a keen eye on the spare wheel well as I don't have a garage so my car is parked outside. Using the car today I noticed there are a few other things that aren't working but for a cheap rare car I'm not too bothered and they can all be fixed easily enough. |

If it does get tiresome with the noise, or coldness, a cheap carpet remnant cut into section could help with that. And I wish you good health and happiness to enjoy the car

I could be wrong but I thought I recognised it being sold on Ebay some time ago.
