Good that Rich is on the mend, be a long, slow process though.

God my wrists are knackered! Spent a couple of hours on my hands and knees giving the kitchen floor a right going over, bleach heavy hot soapy water then a dry cloth. Putting weight on my hands with the wrist bent back is a killer, get the same if I'm on my hands and knees weeding in the garden, suffer afterwards. Spoke to the GP about it a while ago and he organised x-rays but never came to any kind of conclusion about a cause

Afternoon all, Phew! It's gone hot again this afternoon so I came indoors only to cop for carpet shampooing duties
Bloomin' filthy again already It wasn't that long ago since I did it.

Being adventurous for tea tonight! I'm knocking up a chilli concarne with rice. I hope it's not going to be too hot. I'd better get a handful of Omeprozol tablets down me neck before I eat any of it

Sounds painful Steve, Hope it eases off.

Shouldn't be too hot Ian, least its not supposed to be. I use the Schwartz Chilli Con Carne mix (they do hot or mild) and usually add a teaspoon of hot chocolate powder.

Constant nagging ache, just dropped another couple of paracetamol along with my usual evening tabs . . . . not sure why as they don't seen to help.

I made it with some turkey mince & a Colmans chilli concarne seasoning packet from asda, Didn't have any kidney beans so used a tin of butter beans instead

It was good & not too hot at all.

Thank you Jeff for the update. Even though we are thousands of miles away, Richard is never far from our thoughts. Its good news he wants to thank everyone for their messages of support.

Thanks Jeff for the invitation to join you on the Lady Emma, we would be delighted to take you up on your very kind offer next time we are over.

I was chatting to a friend today who is holed up in a hotel in quarantine in Tottenham Court Road for 10 days at a cost of £1850. 5 days ago, he flew in from South Africa. Before getting on the flight in Cape Town he had to show proof of payment for the hotel and he had to have a passenger locator number. This was double checked when he arrived at Heathrow. After arriving at the hotel, he was given a menu for the 10 days. The menu consisted of mostly Indian dishes to meet the needs of the hotel clientele, so he went for vegetarian curries. I don’t envy anyone having to eat curry every day for 10 days....then I thought of the lads in the chill out lounge and how accomplished they are in the kitchen

I hope he's on his own, I wouldn't want to share a room with someone on curries for ten days

Good morning Steve, morning everyone.

Yes he is on his own and he said the room has Toshiba air conditioning with a window which faces a wall. He had received news from South Africa that his mum was dying from cancer and that he should fly out to be with her during her last days. He flew out and she perked up, inevitably she slipped back and passed away. They were able to say goodbye to each other.

So when he returned to the UK, he ended up in quarantine in a hole of a hotel, but it’s the rules for anyone flying in from a country on the red list.

How are you?

Just about to get up. The forecast is 10% chance of rain, partial sun and 27C

Morning Phil, morning world.

This amber warning for wind, rain and thunderstorms at the weekend never amounted to anything here.
A moderate breeze and a bit of cloud was all that we got.

I'm off to the boat today till Wednesday so hopefully the weather will continue to be set fair
