Squirrels are the trigger for Quizzie's zero to max running speed.

Pretty much everything else she loves and wants to play, but squirrels are a whole different story.

Morning Andy, morning Ian, morning all

Hopefully Andy your feeling better and your senses of taste and smell has returned.

This morning we had a visitor to our upstairs veranda, a long thin tree snake which has now gone behind the ceiling board. It looked similar to a juvenile Boomslang but a snake expert did the ID: a spotted bush tree snake, I sent him a photo.... We don’t mind them as they eat the mice, but a Boomslang is one of Africa’s most venomous snakes, those ones we don’t like.

After that we went for a swim in the creek.

Afternoon Phil, Blimey! It'll pay not to stick your hand into places you cant see over there Talking of swimming there's no respite in this steady rain & the garage floor already resembles a swimming pool again
The water table is so high it has nowhere to go.

Been hearing thunder in the distance for a while, the heavens have just opened, like somebody turned a hose on!

Afternoon all, I've been on mopping up duties in the garage for the last two hours since the rain stopped It put a huge amount of rain down overnight & throughout the day even for Lancashire standards

I've had enough now so I'm making prawn salad for tea with salad produce from the greenhouse & I've just harvested big bucket of Charlotte new potatoes to make potato salad with Missus is out doping errands/shopping i.e. replenishing the Apple juice stocks At least the roof repair has held & no further leakage from the roof in the back bedroom ceiling.

Cheers Ian, it looks as though you have had a full day coping with the weather and with the cooking.

In Kenya at the coast, always lift the toilet seat lid before sitting down in case there is a spider under the lid or a snake lurking in the bowl. Before putting on shoes in the morning, give them a shake in case of a scorpion and don’t walk barefoot from the bed to the toilet at night. Then at night, close the nets around the bed because of mosquitoes/malaria, tuck the bed sheets in tight to stop anything - creatures crawling in, I have learned to be cautious and it’s a way of life.

Do enjoy your supper, bon appétit

Rain hasn't stopped, just varied in intensity with more rumbles of thunder.

My dinner plan has been torpedoed! Was going to do a couple of baked potatoes with maybe grated cheese, the bag I got usually has a couple of big ones in it, this one hasn't, all "normal size" Dunno what to have now, been letting the freezer run down prior to defrosting it.
