oh just to add, nextbase 512gw will display speed and I often use that as my speedo. Never been flashed but I gain about mph over the cars speedo, car saying 60, dash cam says 55 so drive the car until dash cam gets to 60 or what ever the limit is

I am very happy with the Viofo A129 Duo. I don't think there is a suction attachment (unlike older Viofo models) but instead you can buy extra mounts and hardwire/rear cam cables. So just unclip the unit, unplug the rear cable (if you have the rear camera) and do the reverse in the other car, repeat for rear cam.

I am in complete agreement and dashcam talk is a very useful website, thank you, thank you for pointing it out I have a DDPAI X2Pro front and rear dash cam which I bought in the UK from WEX Photography 2 years ago for its image stability (handy when off road) high resolution, night vision, large memory and GPS, WiFi phone app etc,

For encounters with corrupt police and bad drivers, I post the footage onto YouTube. The front cam is wedge shape and fits onto a 3M sticky pad with easily detaches via a slider in front of the rear view mirror.

https://youtu.be/ED7bddsb5c0 Thank you. In this footage, it’s a routine police stop to check my new smart Kenya driving licence and car insurance. On this occasion there was no corruption and the police woman was very pleasant often when they see the dash cam I am waved on.

Thanks very much guys.
I bought a Nextbase 512gw in the end from Halfords.
I bought a bundled kit, which I was hoping would come with the slot in rear camera, but instead it came with the one you have to put on the back window.
I won't be using that, as I am constantly in and out of different cars.
So far, it seems quite good. I need to look at the footage from today as so far I've only been able to look at footage from the evening I fitted it.
I noticed that in the dark, or low light, you can't read number plates...
Hopefully in the daylight it's better.
Also noticed that all the recordings are broken down into 60 second recordings.
I expected that it would be one long recording for every journey... I was kind of hoping it would have been so I could have made some funky time lapse videos when driving through the mountains..

Also, think I'm going to get a 128gb card.
I do some weeks cover 1000 miles, so would be handy to be able to have enough storage to keep a record for a few weeks at a time.

Anyway, I'm glad I have it, gives a little peace of mind when sharing the roads with some of these questionable drivers about.

Good morning Phil,

Congratulations on choosing the Nextbase 512GW. Check what memory cards are compatible. I have several SD cards as some of my road journeys are 8-12 hours long and it’s useful having spare cards as backups.

Good morning Phil,

Thank you.
I'll do that. I think I will buy a couple of 128gb cards.
The 32gb card didn't cover a complete 4 hour round trip over the weekend.

I thought that they only captured (stored) a certain time frame - or is that all old hat now? In other words, why would you want 4 hours of something which is of no use other than the actions of the muppets. Better viewing than the holiday phots I guess.
