Morning everyone.
A bright and sunny start to the day. More gardening to be done. A grand day out yesterday to a charity car show, all proceeds to the Blood Bikes.

Morning all.
Visited Cragside yesterday. Very interesting place . https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cragside Back at home after an interesting drive back to the Midlands. Left the North East in lovely bright, dry weather. Some traffic but not a lot and all moving along nicely. Cruise set at 70 and nothing to trouble it. About halfway home and the heavens opened. Proper two speed wipers, much slowing down and the whole road awash. Not sure what was wrong with Lane 1 but no one seemed to want to use it. No one wanted Lane 4 either - except for a few "I've got ABS and traction control and all sorts of super dooper gizmos that mean I can't crash" super human idiots. This effectively shrunk the M-way to 2 lanes which bunched up all the traffic. Aaarrggghhh. Me? I just chose the Lane with the least traffic and let the silly beggers whizz past on their way to eternity and relaxed in the comfort of the Rover. Oddly enough not a speed restriction on the whole journey. Usually we have a few - 70 to 60 and 60 and 50 then back to 70 with absolutely nothing to give a hint why (guess which one has the speed camera ) but vile conditions obviously don't feature in road speed limits for SAFETY reasons About half an hour from home and it all dried up which meant we could empty the car in the dry. Quizzie, of course, slept through the whole journey. Wonderful girl that she is. Take care. Last edited by AndyN01; 23rd August 2021 at 09:45.. |

Mornin'. Much the same as yesterday, grey and misty. Not as bad as earlier though, glanced out the window during the night and could barely see the street lights on the main road about 30 yards away.

Ian, you are into films, there's one I can't find . . . . not helped by the fact I can't remember the title Comedy western with Jack Elam, he's the leader of the most inept gang of bandits you'll ever come across. In one scene they are practicing a bank robbery, a rock represents the safe. One of the bandits puts a stick of dynamite next to the rock to simulate blowing the safe but actually lights the fuse and it explodes right next to Jack Elam. In the next scene he's deaf, bandit on his left speaks to him, he turns and answers the one on his right
Its not "Support your local sheriff" or "Support your local gunfighter". I've tried looking at lists of Jack Elam films and nothing rings a bell, any suggestions |
