Sadly our dog is no longer with us, but my trolley jack and booster block is still going strong i tend to use four ramps nowa days, but you still need to raise the rear up to get the ramps under the wheels. 1 2

I personally only place axle stands under the subframes where they actually sit in the U of the stand . I never sit them anywhere where they sit on the ends of the U ,eg under the jacking points . You are placing the weight on a small surface area. If supporting under the jacking point I always use wooden blocks
(railway sleepers) This spreads the weight and over the full jacking point area Ideally if wanting to work under the car with the wheels on, Artic's pictorial using 2 sets of ramps is a safe way to proceed |
