Default anyone got a cruise control wiring diagram ?

Hi

I have been trying to find a wiring diagram which covers the cruise system of my 2004 CDti - but it does not seem to appear in the Haynes manual I have.

Does anyone know where I could get one ??

Also could anyone identify the purpose of a white male connector block with yellow, pink, black and green wires going into it which hangs down when I remove the trim to get access to the pedals. It looks like it should be connected to something - but I dont know what.

If you go on our favourite auction site you can buy a workshop CD for about £2.50 which has a full set of wiring diagrams for all models - cruise included.
Not sure about your loose connectors but if you have cruise fitted the brake and clutch switches are there so that cruise dis-engages if you brake or de'clutch. I'm not saying that what you are looking at is them though!!

Thanks Denis

I did buy one of the disks - but it stuffs up my PC every time I try to use it as it only works if I set the date to 2003. I did not think that was a issue until I realised it caused problems with all the time limited software I had on the PC (subscriptions to anti virus etc). I have only just got everything back to normal again !

The date problem can be solved, if you let it run in Virtual Box. Then you can give a command, which will set back the time of the bios of that particular VirtualBox.
VirtualBox is free software, for running a virtual operating systeem.
You need to have a windows installation disk with codes.
I tryed this on linux, and not on windows, but it might/should also work on windows

John,
The switch that connects to the clutch pedal is white, I believe.
This often gets disconnected when the clutch master cylinder is replaced.
It just pushes back high on the clutch pedal, from the engine side, into a square hole.
You need to be a contortionist to reach it.

If you are getting the main switch light on, but not the yellow dash light, this microswitch is the first place to look.

Result !

With the help of info from the forum I finally spotted the white switch - and sure enough it was right back in its mounting (which was probably why it was so difficult to spot !)

I see what people mean when they say it is hard to reach - but I eventually managed to push it forward in the housing until it touched the top of the pedal.

Out for a road test - and it all worked perfectly

Thanks to everyone on the forum for the help and advice - I am well chuffed with the result.
