Retro fit message centre
Flushed with sucess after retrofitting a cruise control to my 2004 connie CDTi SE tourer - I am now looking with some envy at thise cars fitted with the message centre and trip computer.
Can this be retrofitted, and if so can anyone point me to a "How to" or list of the parts I would need to buy ?

You then disassemble your clocks, remove the MPH dials, and fit them to the new set, remembering to use the dial surround plastic from the new clocks on your old dial overlay, but don't be tempted to just plug them in, they need to be coded in using T4, something big russ will be able to do for you. Just noticed rimmers have some new instrument packs with trip computer (is this the same thing) for around £40 - the catch being they have KPH speedos.
http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-GRID001648 If I brought one - could I just change the speedo card with the one in my existing instruments (with MPH markings) or is that far too simple to hope for ?

Hi Marinabrian
I must have been posting my info about rimmers at the same time you posted your reply - so they crossed in the ether somewhere. Thanks for the guidance - at £40 it has got to be worth taking a chance and buying one of these units, although I may need to change the illumination as well as I think my existing dials are clear. Thanks for the info - much appreciated.

John
The illumination is by 12 sideways facing leds, requires full stripdown of the IPK to access the pcb. It's not the easiest of mods to do, I've done it a couple of times to convert white to amber. I did a "how to" for .org, I'll give you the link if you want it. Cheers Jim |

On the other hand I could just change the clock for one with amber illumination. That way everything will match and I have nothing against amber anyway.
Thanks for the information - the how to is really helpfull as is the one on changing the dials
