Unhappy Failed MOT

Hiya all, Happy new year to you.
My connie has failed MOT one of the fails is brake pipes, I am thinking of having a bash at replacing these myself. Would it be OK to re-route the pipe that goes over the tank to make it easier to do?

Yes, other owners have done just that with no problems.

Mine were done that way so the removal of the tank was not necessary.

I did mine and tried to follow the original as much as possible around the tank area, what i also did was to slip about half a metre of braided fuel pipe over the brake line and secured the pipe as best as i could to stop any rubbing , the mot tester was happy with this ,so good luck. One other thing if you are making your lines up yourself the front to back pipes have different size unions at the engine end but look identical until you remove them this caught me out and i had to re-use one of the unions also make sure you have a decent pipe flarer as i tried a cheaper one and struggled wasting some pipe then borrowed a decent one which made life a bit easier to do on the car.

Thanks for that tip, I do have a mate who I can borrow a pro flare tool from. Is all brake pipe the same 3/16" size? looking on eBay at 25' of 3/16" + 20 unions for £12
