Use search function, several threads, consensus not recommended, can cause crankshaft failure, stick with OEM design.

I have been on the X-Power website and it would seem that the 2.5 V6 MG ZS has a solid flywheel as standard and a bloke on there does a lightweight conversion for them. I havent heard of any problems with regards to this, an article in car mechanics recently discussed dual mass flywheels and even said a leading clutch manufacturer was supplying solid conversions so I think it will remain a topic for debate for sometime unless a few people take the plunge and try them and then give feedback, we all now about urban myths and rumors, most of us dont have the money to just throw at our cars and b****r the consequences.

the problem is the weight, if its a lot lighter then the nomal DMF, then that can cause problems, banger boys lighten the flywheels within a inch of its life, the engines pretty much last one night of racing!if the solid flywheel is as heavy as a DMF, I cant see a problem! even found a company that make them, a 3kg and a 6kg version, helping a friend to do a manual conversion on his ZT, with a solid flywheel, he builds engines he doesnt think it will cause any problems
