A good scrape, dinitrol rust convertor followed by smooth hammerite, and not looking bad at 157,000 miles and 13 years.

Not easy taking photos of black things in black backgrounds. Looks better in the flesh.

Going to wax inject it with cavity wax once i get the dinitrol out of the loft.

I managed to get hold of 2 clean used ones but treated them for rust and a few good coats of hammerite. Hope will last a while

We all should worry as some of our cars are well into their second decade

I've ordered new ones, as mine are a bit crusty, and although just gone through an MOT I want to keep the car for a few years, so will need doing sooner than later.
The new ones will be well rust proofed before fitting!
