Default Mintex

Just spotted these on Ebay

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ROVER-75-...wAAOxyaTxRQVwC

As I'll be needing to replace my front brakes shortly, I was was wondering if it was a viable option to change all of them at the same time, and also if anybody has had any experience with Mintex brakes and pads?

Thanks.

Just a word of caution, at one time Mintex was widely faked, make sure of you source, nothing is implied about your possible "supplier"

Mintex and Pagid (and othe brands) are made by Aftermarket supplier TMD

I've used Mintex for more years than I care to remember.

Always been very happy with them.

Seems a good way to go.

Good Luck.

Andy.

used mintex no problems.
when I did mine I changed all at once.
dirty job, time consuming undoing the callipers.

when doing the rear, do undo the handbrake nut in the car then adjust at hub then do up the nut

I like mintex stuff always seems good quality, although the last set of discs I fitted were Brembo and have to say these weren't much more cost wise only a few pounds but they are coated in a plastic type coating to preserve them, most manufacturer's use an oil or grease, the coating used by brembo is clear but as they heat up through use and any unswept area turns black and looks painted so there is no corrosion visible, i really like this feature and would use Brembo again providing cost wasn't prohibitive. I purchased them from GSF on a 60% off deal.

Delphi are great. OE to many

In truth you can't go far wrong with Unipart and will most likely be cheaper than those Mintex ones

Perhaps this is the reason I had SO MANY problems when I fitted Mintex to our VW Up. I fitted new discs and Mintex pads, after about 50 miles they were juddering. I couldn't be bothered with it so I took it to my local garage to put right. I told them it must be the discs that I had bought off Ebay, it couldn't be the pads they were Mintex! They replaced the discs and the judder came back about 50 miles later. I took it back and they swapped them yet again under warranty. About 50 miles later and it was juddering yet again. I thought, well it can only be discs or pads so I bought and fitted a set of EBC "green stuff" pads. The judder went and never came back. They were fantastic brakes as well. So, could my "Mintex" have been fakes?

Personally, I don't rate Mintex stuff at all. It's OK, but there's nothing premium about their products. Pagid pads and discs are much better, and they're plastic coated, so the non friction bearing areas don't rust and look horrible after a couple of weeks.

I think Mintex are a bit rubbish - they create too much dust and noise. I fitted Mintex discs and pads form a reputable seller to my Omega and the difference between genuine Vx and Mintex was like night and day. I went back to genuine Vx.

For the 75/Zt, I would suggest TRW from Mister Auto or Unipart.
