Late to the party!
I know this has probably been covered before but what is the situation re our cars and E10 petrol. Several garages near me are displaying all the E10 signage and if not already will be supplying from the end of the month. Is it ok to use or should we be using the higher octane E5.

I usually use Tesco Momentum 95 (which was E5) but to-day (06/08) when I went to fill up the forecourt was closed (probably stock taking). As I was in the red I went to the nearest garage which was an Esso. Price there was 137.9 ppl got 95 octane E10. I put in some 99 octane E5 at 155.9 ppl. I've no doubt that Momentum will be E10 when I next check but I believe a thread on this forum (or maybe the 260) stated that Esso E5 was still ethenal free. I don't know if this is true or what has changed (perhaps E10 is 5% or perhaps there is still no ethenol added. The poster did say he would update but have not seen anything yet! Kev |
