Default Oh fun - not

My electric bills for the last two months have been about £200 a month yet we have solar power and an air to water heat source pump for hot water which should only be on for 90 minutes.
In an attempt to get to the bottom of why electric bill is so high I spoke to Mitsubishi today as the heat source pump, control board and a timer are all theirs. The heat source pump cycles on and off all day and night.
Seems a programmer/timer is set up only for heating and so runs all the time, there is no hot water setting.
Needs a "specialist" to visit to try and work out the wiring let alone the plumbing.

I can imagine that we/I/he may even need to trace pipes to see where on earth they go as there is a cylinder in the garage and one in the airing cupboard with rooms in between so no line of sight.

This may not be cheap to solve but too expensive not to.
