Default Rover 75 Servicing - Poole / Bournemouth

My car is an R75 Mk. 2, 2.0 CDTi Connoisseur SE, Manual Saloon, 06 Plate

For many years I have very happily used South Coast Rover (previously HAS) in Poole for all my servicing requirements. Excellent service, very helpful, never had any issues.

Went there recently to book my 75 in for a '12 Year 'C' service' + MoT in February, only to find that they have closed (people in the next unit said that they had ceased operation in late-2017).

Hence, does anyone have any recommendations for a Rover specialist in the Poole / Bournemouth / southern Dorset region who could undertake this work? All advice gratefully received.

Best regards, Martin

PS As a newbie I trust this is the correct sub-forum for a query of this type. If not, please let me know and I'll repost in the correct area. Thanks.

PPS My Rover history is:-
· 620Si - bought second-hand in 1996, traded in at 104k miles, in 2000, for
· 75 (2.0 V6) - bought new, traded at 125k miles, in 2006, for
· 75 (2.0 CDTi, ex-demonstrator) - currently at 74k miles

Cool

You can try MJSAUTOANDMARINE.CO.UK they are fully mobile and distance no object. They do have a workshop in Littlehampton in Sussex, with two lifts.

The governor, Mike Stafford, is served his apprenticeship with MG-Rover. He looks after most of my fleet and I live in Essex.

Only takes a phone call.

And Welcome to the fountain of knowledge.

Hello Martin and to the club.

You could also try club trader Chris, based in Portsmouth. If he can't help you directly he should be able to give some recommendations particularly as he has a diesel himself.

Thanks all,

I've booked my car into C & A Rawlings in Bridport for late-February. Hopefully will be a nice day and I can spend some time down at West Bay

Hello Martin, Its nice to hear from a fellow Wimborne member, I'm also in Wimborne.

There are not many garage services around this neck of the woods that know these cars, now that South Coast Rover has closed.

There is Longham Motor Engineers in Ferndown, a very friendly bunch of guys that seem to know their stuff. I've use them once so far and was very pleased with their service.

Hi Martin
Just wondered how you got on. I take my car to Jules once a year, but have been searching for someone more local in the event that something goes wrong in the meantime.
Cheers
Geoff
