No pressure on clutch
Hi Guys....
Help.....my 75 has free travel on the clutch pedal..... There is no resistance on the pedal.and its nearly at the floor before the clutch does engage.... Hard to put into gear. Then ither times slides in without a problem.... Are we looking at clutch gone or master/slave cylinder gone...

Check for any signs of fluid around the master cylinder, you can try bleeding it through, but if your luck is like mine.. it’ll be the slave that’s fell apart.

It's handily located at the top of the clutch pedal
It may just need topping up due to a leak, mine did the other day, and I know it is the master leaking, as the paint is coming off the clutch pedal Anyway it looks like this......... Brian |

if you cannot find any fluid around the master cylinder, remove the cap, under it is a rubber sleeve, often referred to as a condom You will need to remove this too
If you are lucky the master cylinder will still be 1/2ish or a bit more full. This being the case I suggest a seal has failed in the master cylinder allowing fluid to remain in the master cylinder when the pedal is pressed. If empty take a look under the car, remove the under tray if you have one and look around the bell housing, is there fluid dripping? If there is then your slave has failed. You will either need deep pockets or be good with a spanner. macafee2 |

Had a quick look at the master cylinder and could see no fluid around it. Could not get the cap off will have to get some expandable vice grips.
Will have a look tomorrow. Regards
