ABS Diagnostics
Had an OSF caliper seize a couple of weeks back. Stripped and cleaned it out and everything worked fine until three days ago.
Driving up the M1 and the ABS alarm came on for ten minutes then went off again. Didn't reappear and 400 miles later I got back home today, so connected the ACR4 diagnostic up and got two fault codes stored for the ABS: 005 wheel speed sensor rear right plausibility. 006 wheel speed sensor front right plausibility (brake). When the brake caliper seized the ABS didn't alarm up, but strange that the brake was specifically mentioned in the second stored fault code - coincidence or can the system detect a dragging brake? Have cleared both fault codes and will see what, if anything flags up again. |

Hard to say as the description text varies on different diagnostic machines, however on the T4 it will tell you if the fault was logged during braking.

Thanks Phil, that sounds the most likely explanation.
