Good evening one and all - glad we're back to conversing in English again. Trying to remember my schoolboy French and German yesterday left my brain hurting
I hope you've all had a successful day - mine has consisted mainly of keeping dry and warm - only crossed the threshold once to go to the dustbin
After a large plateful of bangers (Cumberland - spicy ), mash and onion gravy, I'm now reclining on the sofa - watching Ajax show Manchester City how to play football.

Good evening Rod! I know how you feel I need at least half an hour to warm up before speaking French! Has been an interesting day; intense but interesting! Just watched a really interesting documentary by Rank from 1962 about women and how their lives were changing. From a social point of view it was interesting but also from the different fashions and cars; a successful fashion modelling business owner stepping out of a chauffeur driven................... Rover P5B! As well as some lovely Sunbeams and an exposed radiator Austin Taxi! Lovely!

Good evening Jeff! How are you? Will have to watch wheeler-dealers at some point; just a little too sleepy; the course was quite intense... What's left of my little brain is cream crackered!

In my youth, I decided at the age of 19, after a few years in an office, that I wanted to be a car salesman. Joined a small garage - mainstay of which was (well) used cars, although we did eventually take on dealerships for Toyota and Honda. The VERY FIRST car I drove in that job was a Rover P5B - complete with auto box. I hadn't a clue how to drive it - tried left foot braking and nearly put myself through the windscreen. Tried sticking it in "1" instead of D - and couldn't understand why it wouldn't change gear. It took me about 45 mins to drive around 5 miles, queue of traffic behind me - and the boss thought I'd nicked the Rover because it took me so long to get to the workshops.
