Can't bring myself to trust the sat navs for trucks/buses, always check for low bridges with an aa atlas and just use a standard Garmin to save me getting lost. Although it still happens having to call the office to ask for help via the vehicle tracker is a tad embarrassing, especially when asked which way are you facing the best answer you can give is uphill

I still use my TomTom XL1. It too is being sunsetted by tomtom.
I'll update it to the latest, erm, 'shared...' maps off t'internet soon, as it doesn't have the new layout around Mcr Airport and some of the Glasgow junctions seem a bit wonky. I have no qualms about using hacked maps. - One, the genuine updates are a rip off; - Two, it took over 10 years for them to stop calling 'Bangor' 'Bangor Uchaf' - which is a real place, but 90 miles away; - Three, it took them six years to update the A4244 when it changed from the B43xx. - Four, they now use some OpenStreetMap data, which as a volunteer mapper I contribute to for free! I'm paying for my own work! |

Ditto - which is a shame as it is a reliable piece of kit. Nowadays. it shows too many shots of roads crossing fields, or no roads at all
