Road test tomorrow having found nothing out of place. Starts first time and at idle no warning lights. Oil and coolant are fine. No strange noises. Last week it had a bit of a misfire. Tomorrow will hopefully throw up a diagnosis.

Rear bank lamda sensor wiring has been known to touch exhaust and shorted the wiring. this would give a burning smell and bring on engine management light.

Thanks. Could it cause a misfire too?
