Default Pointless ebay adverts

I was looking for a 2nd hand gearbox for a customer's ZR on ebay and found one that was low mileage. When I read the advert it said:

Quote:
AUCTION IS FOR THE GEAR BOX WHICH HAS DONE ONLY 35,000 MILES

REMOVED FROM 2003 (53) MG ZR 1396CC PETROL, 5 SPEED, WHICH I AM BREAKING FOR SPARES.

MAKE - MG
MODEL - ZR
MILEAGE - 35000
PAINT CODE - TROPHY BLUE ( JFV )
Which was a shame, my customer has a green car.

What is the point of information like that?

The point is so he can sell the body parts etc through email without going through eBay

1/ The seller will have a few more parts to list from the car for some of which colour will be relevant. For subsequent adverts is trying to save time by using his first advert as a basic template. And I would give him a few marks for actually listing the paint code on those as not every seller does.

2/ He has said that he is breaking the car, He may get other peeps asking for parts he hasnt yet listed which may result in a sales without further advertising which would save hime some time and perhaps e bay and paypal charges.

eg. I needed a new boot lid for my 75. I searched a bay for Rover 75 and my paint code (GMV) on the basis that I might find a car with the right colour where for example the gearbox was being listed for sale but the boot was still with the car and available but unlisted.

Glad someone saw the irony in my post!

I'll just wait until a green gearbox comes along.

Did you mean the replies to your post were 'ironic' ??

( ie. Happening in the opposite way to what you expected )
