Default Cheap place to stay?

Hi,

I need a cheap place to stay around Crayford / Dartford or Romford.

I've been googling like no tomorrow and the closest I can find is an IBIS in Romford, but its 10 miles away from where I need to be, and has a toll road as well, so as I need to get where Im going in a taxi, I expect its going to get very expensive.

Does anyone live down there and know of any places I can stay at?

Thanks.

Any good ?

http://www.travelodge.co.uk/hotels/23/Dartford-hotel

Its also near a rail Station which might be of use instead of Taxi.

If you need to be on the Kent side of the river would not consider Essex hotels. Dartford Crossing is regularly a pain eg traffic back from Juntion 2 or 3 on the M25 for North bound and not much better South bound.

Cheers, pretty sure I checked this hotel but I'll check again just in case. They had no room at the inn iirc. It's for a saturday so traffic shouldn't be a problem, but as I want a drink I will have to be a taxi or public transport (off to the greyhound track!).

Kinda. I'm still having issues but not as bad this last week. Going down to see the specialist in bucks on 2nd July.

Thanks for asking

Good to see you back!

Bit lost here,

where is the venue you are wanting to be close to? by Greyhounds i thought of the Romford track.

You need to be VERY VERY careful down here in relation to taxi costs. Its not like up north where you can get a mile or two for a couple of quid. you are looking at a minimum charge of a fiver.

I'm just under 4.5 miles from Romford and a taxi before midnight (once double time kicks in) is a tenner.

If you let us know the venue then it will be much better for finding somewhere to stay, for example Romford has a number of suburbs that locals know which have B&B's etc.
