2002 CDT Connoisseur SE – BANK HOLIDAY BARGAIN - NOW SCRAPPED
Owned by me from November 2013 (93k) Currently 144k. Bought as a short term replacement car but enjoyed driving it so much I decided to keep it and have had the following work done:
160 remap (Phil T4) Renault 5 thermostat fitted (engine now running at correct temp) EGR bypass Fuel pump under rear seat replaced Fuel pump under bonnet replaced Walnut steering wheel upgrade Walnut dash trim Heavy Duty rubber mats Towbar fitted Headlights replaced with Zenons Intercooler O Rings replaced New battery April 2017 New alternator March 2018 Crankshaft Pulley and timing chain guide replaced at 111k Fan replaced with Revotec by Jules plus new turbo hose Rear exhaust box replaced New aircon condenser MPH readout on IPK enabled and new IPK fitted Gearbox solenoid replaced Oct 2018 (common autobox problem) The good things about the car: MOT’d to Feb 2020 Midnight blue with sandstone leather interior Auto box married to BMW 2.0 ltr diesel – easily does 45mpg and have had 48 mpg on long motorway run Cruise control Towbar New IPK/fuel computer with MPH readout Retracting chrome mirrors Rear sunblind Lots of walnut trim including steering wheel The not quite so good: Electric sunroof has never worked (new motor needed?) Water leaking into boot recently fried the upgraded highline sound system – fuse now removed so GPS also inoperable (although the Satnav and CD changer both work fine) The sunroof drains mod has been carried out so I know the water is not coming from there. Theo odd rust bubble and dings. THE DOWNRIGHT BAD Engine cut out mid drive in deepest Sussex this afternoon. Car trailered back to London – currently in Leytonstone. Engine turns over but will not start. Did not overheat no unusual noises just cut out – some sort of electrical problem? Now had enough and it’s got to go. WILL NEED TRAILLERING OR TOWING £250 to include £60 of diesel in tank and touch up paint (brush + spray) Last edited by Annalogg; 8th May 2019 at 13:24.. Reason: photos |

More pics
More photos (hopefully)
From browsing tech section it sounds as though under bonnet fuel pump has gone (again). Not paying a London garage to fault find and fit so it's off to scrappies Tuesday if no takers. Unfortunate as the salvageable parts must be worth a fair bit. |
