The most pointless feature on a car EVER?
Friend of mine has a recent (09 plate I think?) Audi A6.
There is a button on the dash I'd not seen before, so I asked what it did. It opened the glovebox electrically. Why?????????? Anybody seen anything more pointless than this?? From any age of car, any country etc. Bolin. |

Its how Audi, which sell overpriced jumped up VWs compete with better brands like BMW and Mercedes.
The most pointless feature ever is probably a Key for a TVR. The chances of it working long enough to need a key is extremely remote.

I think the button on ours that changes the temp from deg c to farenheit is a bit of a waste of time!

The self closing doors on BMW's (and others) are pretty silly.
The owners arm muscles will waste away............... and drop off hopefully

Anders Celcius was a Swedish astronomer (1701–1744), whereas Daniel G Fahrenheit (1686–1736) was of German/Polish/Dutch extraction. Personally, I think 'degrees Thatcher' sounds good for a car of such stature. The button should be marked 'C/F/T'
Degrees Kelvin is the absolute decimal (ala Celcius) scale named after an Irish bloke - as they do. TC Last edited by T-Cut; 18th November 2011 at 20:25.. |
