Default Double din

As I see it, the problem now is that unless the manufacturers are prepared to make a unit especially to order to satisfy a customers specific requirements then the unit price which includes everything that anyone could want will rise to a point where I for one would be priced out of the market.
I don't want to pay for things I would not want nor use.
Picky's original unit with RDS which is how it was advertised even if it didn't work would have done for me and I may have bought one at that price.

Hello Keith

How did the operation go? I hope you are well and trying to get about.

I think the unit is worth what you are willing to pay for it and what you want it to do.

As Picky said in his updated post, the updated version with DVB-T will be ready by 10th December. I have now asked if it is possible to add a TMC internal module for this date and they said they can do it by then, if not before !

The new price, which includes the original unit ($345) upgraded to DVB-T ($45), TMC ($40) and p+p (DHL $86) is US$516. Then, you have to add the £25 money transfer fee and of course, there is also the risk of customs adding their cut!!

I have been promised an email as soon as it is ready. Can't wait!

Dear Santa........! (Cc Mr. Visa!!)

Think Cathy is very pleased with the 75andzt club
I wonder how many of us will buy one.

If you look at the 4th picture on this tread it will show you the TMC working with traffic probelms.

Unless I have got the wrong end of the stick, that IS what they are prepared to do, just like they were prepared to put a Rover logo on it for Picky (for free) instead of the MG one. If you want the extras, then you pay for them. At least that is the way I have been lead to believe. I will ask the specific question tomorrow. Fair point though.

I was waiting for nearly three weeks while they changed the logo so in the end I said just send it unchanged so I could at least get one to try out.Since then I have sussed out how to do it myself and let Cathy know.A bit later Cathy emailed back and said "could you teach me how to do it?" So I believe I am now on the staff as an unpaid technical advisor.

Graham, am I right in saying the MG logo was only loaded with the SAT NAV? if that is the case it is quite easy to change via the Skin on IGO.

The logo does not apply to the satnav/winCE side of things it's held in flash memory controlled by the Sunplus chip which drives the main interface and functions other than the satnav. The logo does not show on start up I think it just defaults to the last mode that was used when you switch it on,however, if you play a cd or when a dvd is loading then that's when the logo rears its ugly head. You don't even have to have a logo ,you could have just a blank screen or any picture you like, even one of the wife..................no forget that last part!!!

You can't access it from the unit,it's done off the remote control and the picture you want to use has to be on the SD card or a usb thumbdrive.I had to improvise the instructions from another chinese unit and tried random buttons till I hit the right one.
