Unhappy I suspect a sensors gone intermittant and spoiling my fun

*** Sorry should have mentioned the car is 1.8T....not CDTI **

Chaps,

I need some help to try and track a fault down that doesn't appear to be there all the time.

On occasions when the cars ticking over and the accelerator is pressed the car has no power but the revs seem to reduce and feels like the cars going to stall.

If I then release the pedal and try again or rev harder all ok

Also, I had quite a few MGR and noticed that this one doesn't idle as smooth as the others. Little rough to be honest. The rev counter wanders very slighly around 850 (guess).

Any ideas would be warmly welcomed.
cheers
Rich

Most common things that I know of are: MAF Sensor, EGR Valve sticking, Fuel Pumps (under-bonnet & in-tank), dirty Fuel Filter, Air Filter, Dirty or blocked PCV Filter.
Disconnect the MAF first & see if this improves things.

Get someone to press the pedal while you have a look under the bonnet at what is going on the other end of the cable...
