Shades of Metallic
Hi all, changed my bonnet a while ago as the original was marked and had a couple of small dents, got one from a member, same colour code MUM, nice clean example and it's polished up well but it does seem less blue than the rest of the car, well almost, the front bumper's about the same colour but that's it, of course I've no idea what if anything the cars been treated with over the years, is there anything that would bring out the blue in the Zircon Silver any help appreciated. Thanks

Hard to say, there will always be some natural variation in paint across cars. Its unlikely you will be able to do anything significant because the paint is lacquered, so if its faded no amount of polishing will do anything. The only thing i can suggest is to use a synthetic sealant on the bonnet and a natural wax on the rest. Waxes have a slight yellowing or warming effect, whereas sealants are much colder, but i doubt they will do much.

Thanks for that, I kind of guessed as much, I've read synthetic treatments make the metallic sparkle moor than natural waxes and I do wonder if the car has been treated in the past as the flecks really show, who knows
