Will a BMW wooden auto gear knob fit?
My V6 auto has a lovely walnut gear knob, which I am guessing came from a BMW maybe series 3? I would love to have one for my Tourer but does anyone know what model I should look for please (E36?)

The item description is below. Automatic Gear Shift Knob Shifter Lever For BMW E46/E39/E36/E60/E61 3 5 7 Series

Yep they do fit. An X5 (E53) gear knob will also fit. There is one difference, however. The "trigger" is attached to a plastic rod inside the gear knob. The rod is shorter on the BMW version than the Rover version so needs to be swapped over. To do this, you have to carefully lever out the trigger from the bottom using a trim tool or flat bladed screwdriver.
