To make matters worse, I am considring an I Pace to sit alongside the XF-S.

I am of course applying the wisdom underpinning posts from the few regular posters about EVs and their gullible owners who, despite being early adopters of EV technology and obviously reasonably successful in life for being able to afford to do so, clearly are devoid of major intellectual faculties. It is implied. Otherwise they would follow the example of the wise who have the knowledge from a distrance and ignore the experience of many that comes from ownership.

If you read my post it was about life insurance not about EVs. You will find I have never expressed an opinion on them.
I also have a scientific background as I obtained an honours degree in physics in the 60s when they had to be earned.
I own a 75 and also a Lexus my son in law gave me for nothing when he was buying a new car. As I do not go into the ULEZ I have no particular need for an EV and do not see the point of tieing up capital when I can use it more profitably elsewhere.

Apart from the first line, my post was not expressing an opinion on your post but others' posts which regularly express opinions about EVs under the guise of asking questions on behalf of others.

Your grammar links the second sentence with the first, hence my comments

Yes - as someone who has an open mind about EVs, Grammar is just one of my many other failures.

What was intended as a discussion of HP and the dodges concerning interest-bearing loans has now descended into a less savoury snipe at individuals. Can a Moderator please close this thread with immediate effect.

Agreed as this has not anything to do with the original subject

Would be a shame to see this close.

Anyway.

It is possible to off-set the charger costs by having solar panels installed as well as battery storage.

But then the initial outlay is a bit pricey.

It is now two days since my request for a closure. Are there no moderators now or this service no longer on offer?
