I have been having pain in my left shoulder for the last two or three months and the last few weeks it has got a whole lot worse.

The pain is especially bad when raising my arm above my head or trying to put my arm behind my back.

So, wiping ones backside, tucking in a shirt in, reaching for biscuits in the kitchen cupboard are usually met with a sharp pain and choice language.

Also trying to sleep on that side is nigh on impossible and my sleep has been very much disrupted by continuously being woken with pain when rolling on that side.

Anti inflammatory medication (Naproxen) and paracetamol have only given mild relief along with using a cold pack on the shoulder.

Finally got to see the physiotherapist at my Doctors surgery last Thursday and he has diagnosed an impinged shoulder!
I have been referred to my local hospital for shock wave treatment but there is a compulsory two week wait before the appointment is generated.... I have no idea as to the reason why that is

This will be done along with excercises to do at home to hopefully restore shoulder movement without the pain.

If this doesn't cure it then steroid injections are the next step and possible surgery to widen the gap between the tendons and bone!

Anyhow, thought I better share that as I was feeling left out on the Thomas Dickus list

Oh yeah....If you are wondering how my problem started......Trying to photograph Swans is the answer

Ouch! that sounds painful Jeff, Something like that affects everything you do through the day, Hope they can get it sorted out for you asap.

Morning all.

It's dull and grey here with a bit of drizzle in the air to boot. And feels much colder than of late.

Hoping to catch up with Rich tomorrow which will be good.

Take care of all those aches, age induced and post procedure pains.

All the happiness that used to be

Soon my eyes will close
Soon I'll find repose
And in dreams, you're always near to me

And then I'll hold you in my dreams

That was a first at the Bloods at Bolton hospital!, I was the first one for a blood test there & in & out in quick sticks.

Did a bit of shopping at ASDA on the way back for some baking essentials, You can tell we're in austerity times, I'm buying lard again
Tipping it down here.

Morning Jeff,

I am glad to see you got your shoulder checked out and you’re having physio. A good friend was telling us about a shoulder pain she would get taking the dog for a walk. She had a scan and it turned out she had breast cancer which was followed by a mastectomy. That was 2 years ago, she is still doing okay.

The lens arrived yesterday in mint condition everything working and the best bit, it fits the camera body perfectly. Today, CPL and neutral density filters, a card reader will arrive. That will be all for this year in terms of new camera gear.

Hopefully physio will be enough and you won’t need to progress to steroid injections or surgery.

Have a great photo shoot!
