Thanks to Vitesse, I will be testing his cream BCU this weekend; more than likely Sunday. Hopefully the wipers will work, confirming that my BCU is faulty. This will help me to make a decision, one way, or the other...

The on-loan BCU has been fitted... No change. It was of course a great idea and even though the wipers don't work I know think it's time to test the wiring and borrow the correct tools... If the wiring was not tested in the garage, the question is why? I can't imagine that it's an earth problem.

OMG! The wipers now work, with the reolacement BCU.... I opened the wiper motor bay, only to find that one plug was not connected. I've not looked in there since I took the car to the garage... Now to put the original BCU back.... More later :-)

The wipers now work!

As the plug on the wiper motor was no longer plugged in, it appears as if the replacement switch on the steering column had solved the problem, but I was unaware of the fact that I'd solved the problem...

Let's hope that the problem remains solved!

Great news, thanks for the update. I guess the sun is now shining in Hamburg or at least over you.

Sun shining here too as I've now finished the SD1 boot floor which resembles a patchwork quilt, now onto the rear wheel arches.
