Default Single DIN DVD player with 3.5" Screen For Sale

Before I decided to go down the Alpine route I experimented with the attached unit. It is a Nikkai (Chinese) brand - as sold by Maplins (I was hoping to find the link to the Maplin webpages so you can see all the goodies but it is no longer there).

It works and has the following (and probably more) features. I had it fitted but did not think it fitted in with the Rover 75 "look" and feel - I was also considering fitting it in the centre console at the cup-holder level but it looked like too much hard work!! It fits in a standard single-din slot, but as the screen is bigger than the din opening it has a slight lip to it so that the front bit is actually bigger than a single din slot (height-wise).

Anyway it has:

- 60W x 4 outputs
- a 3.5" colour TFT screen
- USB2 connection to play MP3s
- SDCARD slot to play MP3s/Video (I used a 2G card with no probs)
- standard radio and CD player ability
- plays DVDs
- detachable front as can be seen in the photos (the front has a carrying case too)
- external AV in, reverse camera in and AV out
- remote control
- all the usual TA/ equaliser/ etc functions
- the backlights is blue

I have it all in the original packaging and I believe all the bits are in there. Perhaps you might not like it for the 75 but OK in a lesser car perhaps (any BMWs out there perhaps!? ) The one thing I have done to it is remove all the white lettering which says "Expensive DVD player in car please steal me" it makes it look more OEM too

I am looking for £80 + postage which I don't believe is too much as it cost me £150+ If it doesn't go here I will try my luck on ebay PM if you are interested.
