FBH not working
I must admit I have not used the FBH for 12 months as the Rover is used as a second car.
I used the remote this morning and the FBH did not switch on. As the batteries in the remote did not look too healthy I replaced them. Reset the FBH by pulling 6 pin and 2 pin connector out but it did not switch on. Reset it by pulling F8 out - no luck. As I was not sure if I needed to pair the remote to the FBH I used the "flame" button on the timer in centre console ((never used it before). Nothing Stuck a pin through the insulation on the blue wire to pin 3 and grounded it. Nothing. I have the later FBH. 6 years ago French Mike repaired the PCB and I decoked the unit and put in a new glow plug. Any clues on what the problem is???? Many thanks |

have you checked fuse 8 in the engine bay fuse box or tried powering the fan directly?

too many failures to start can actually lock the pcb and it wont start but I dont know if it would stop the fan from starting. You could have the pcb checked by Devilish a member here.
Are you able to manually test with a multimeter the glow plug, water pump and fan? macafee2 |

I have a multimeter. However the resistance I should be measuring is very low. Before when I had a faulty glow plug I measured 0.6 ohm though it is very difficult to get a good connection. The glow plug and pump might be faulty but that should not stop the fan from running. |
