Angry End of the road

With a heavy heart I have to get rid of my 75 tourer. What I thought was a failed master cylinder turns out to be the slave cylinder.
It's a 2003 in BRG great engine but I can't afford to get it repaired. So if anybody needs parts it is in Coventry. Message me

Advertise it on here as spares or repair, I’m sure someone will keep it going

Before considering you cannot afford to repair it, consider the cost of a replacement if you are going to replace the car.

These guys aren't too far away and come well recommended.

As has been said, what are you going to buy that might be hiding a multitude of hidden, costly repairs against putting right one you know well?

Obviously if you can't afford it whatever then Trikey is spot on.

Good luck whatever you decide.

Andy.

Thanks for your replies. I think we are going to keep the car and get it repaired. As you say better the devil you know. Just have to find the money now.

The job is labour intensive and there are a couple of ways the job can be done.
Consider replacing the clutch and the shaft the slave fits onto but this will add to the cost.
Alas I think you could be looking at £650 but those that have paid for the job to be done can give you what they paid.

I've done the job once, would not like to do it again

Total cost of mine was rougly £600 with a new clutch thrown in as well, however I had mine done in stages, with the slave cylinders costing about £390 and the clutch and master cylinder getting replaced a couple of weeks later for £215.

A1 Clutches in Tipton if you're interested.

That's great news - I'm glad she's being saved. If we can help by doing a good deal on the parts, do let me know.
