Facelift to Pre facelift spec and interior
As a follow up on this, ive had a look at my facelift 190 sec wise, and yeah its pretty poor. Im wanting to splash a bit of cash at this motor as i absolutely love it, but its looking a bit poor man ish.
Downside is, its a 190+ but looks like rover used the empty parts bin to kit it out. Im liking the idea of the following, bearing in mind ive had a look and there seems to be no wiring in situ for anything at all, behind the blanking plate are about 5 holes with not a plug in sight....unless they hide behind the air con panel?? Anyway to wrap this up in 1 thread the following info would be much appreciated 1. Rear blind 2. Cruise control 3. Auto dim mirror 4. Proper IPK with message centre 5. Heated eleccy leather interior 6. Rain sensing wipers Thanks in advance, im ok mechanically aswell so all will be diy. cheers |

1. The rear blind should be easy enough, it'll be a simple on-off-on circuit. One "on" to raise, and the other to lower. All you'll really need is the switch, some wire and the blind. Maybe a timing relay if you want to get really snazzy
2. Pass. 3. There's a "how to" here 4. Pass. But I'm sure someone will know. 5. There's a "how to" here 6. Pass. |

Most of that is fairly easily done.
As klarzy said with the IPK. Or you could score lucky and buy a 'virginized' IPK that would just need a T4 session. No EEPROM swapping neccessary. Rain sensing wipers you wont be able to fit without getting a new windscreen fitted as the rain sensor is built into the glass... Of course if you insurance covers windscreen replacement for a small excess, you could 'assume' you have rain sensors

you need a magnifying glass, a good light, a soldering iron and a steady hand.

I have a MKII 75 and all the wires and plugs are there, I've just installed the rear blind and the cruise control, it already had heated seats and the traffic master thing.
My plugs were behind the front panels, I had to remove the ATC facia and they were wrapped in grey foam together. Have another look, you might find them. Pete. |
