The BBC should represent the UK in a an un bias way but I'm fed up with them slaughtering the country .and the government .
These are difficult times and everyone should be pulling together .
No government is going to get this right . they are just fighting fire's
The BBC where not voted in and they should be more responsible when reporting news .
They have huge influence but with their twisting of stories iv no idea who is to gain by this
Maybe they see it as being impartial.. who knows

If you think about it, a person's own views about 'issue's affects where they see any particular source of news standing in the political spectrum. If you're heavily invested in right of centre attitudes then it's likely you'll be offended at anything that tends towards criticism of right wing issues and approval of left wing points. That's only natural.

However for someone who is left leaning the same applies but the opposite way round and the BBC has to play it down the middle, which will mean upsetting some on both sides of the political fence, often at the same time.

And it would be absolutely wrong, in their allotted mission to inform the public, if they didn't investigate and inform when they see things that are going wrong. Like any news organisation they're not really interested in good news, things going right isn't news, it's what's expected. Things going wrong is news. I mean 'No earthquake in Watford today' isn't going to hold an audience, whereas maybe trying to send a 93 year old housebound lady 40 miles for a covid jab with the risks of infection might well be.

What always puzzles me is why people just don't stop watching BBC, SKY, ITN or whatever.
Why watch if it causes so much displeasure

It's not just the BBC, it's the whole mainstream media.

On this last point, because people like bad news!

My bold.

I think a lot would if the TV licensing system, which is just a tax on TV ownership, was abolished and BBC had to earn its daily bread in the same way as Sky and ITV do.

And at one time had Jimmy Saville as the "Face of the BBC".

I used to love watching the Black and White minstrels, but that is not politicly correct in this day and age.

Hi Paul,

The advantage of the licence fee is that the BBC's output isn't dependent upon pleasing advertisers which always drives down standards and puts programmes for minority interests at risk.

Although the BBC is an institution with all the flaws that brings, if you look at what we get for a relatively modest outlay I say it's a bargain! Compare the licence fee with the taxes we have to pay to run a car; VED plus fuel tax plus insurance, ouch!

I am in the camp that believes the media only looks for headline news. and tend to look for faults/blame of anything that is done, but...technically this Indian statement is correct!
They are starting the BIGGEST vacc campaign, it is bigger that ours, as they have a much larger population than us.
